High Risk Confined Space Course

This course covers everything you need to work safely in high-risk confined spaces. It combines both in-classroom teaching with practical exercises for a comprehensive learning experience. Key topics covered include:

• How to identify high risk confined spaces.

• Guidance on the most common hazards associated with these spaces.

• How to conduct a risk assessment and identify potential dangers pre-entry.

• Instruction on safe entry and exit procedures.

• Use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Correct use of breathing apparatus.

• How to work safely as part of a team and communicate effectively.

• Emergency response and rescue procedures.

By the end of this course, delegates will have the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to manage risks effectively and respond safely in high-risk confined spaces.

The practical exercises on this course are designed to give delegates hands-on experience in realistic confined space scenarios. They include:

• Using breathing apparatus safely in enclosed environments.

• Entering and exiting confined spaces following correct procedures.

• Simulated emergency drills, such as rescue operations and evacuations.

• Working in restricted access areas, including crawling or maneuvering through tunnels.

• Operating tripods, winches, and other forms of fall protection equipment.

• Using gas monitors and other safety tools to assess hazards.

• Team-based exercises to practice communication and safe working methods.

These exercises help ensure delegates can confidently apply safety procedures and respond effectively in real-world high-risk confined space situations.

This course is delivered by our own in-house team of expert instructors, all of whom have extensive experience working in high-risk confined spaces. Many of our instructors are active confined space rescue operatives, bringing real-world knowledge of emergency situations and technical rescue to each training session.

Delegates will be guided through classroom-based learning and hands-on exercises in realistic confined space environments, for a comprehensive approach to teaching. At all times, our instructors will look to impart real-life knowledge and industry insights to aid in the learning process.

This ensures that attendees gain both the practical skills necessary, as well as the confidence to operate in high-risk confined spaces, aligned with industry standards and best practices.

Delegates gain practical experience using breathing apparatus, PPE, and other safety equipment, along with training in emergency response and rescue techniques.
