With many years of experience in confined space entry and rescue, Severn Access has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this field. Our personnel are fully trained, qualified and experienced in every aspect of confined space working and rescue management. Severn Access works within the guidance of HSE, specifically the Safe Work in Confined Spaces, Confined Spaces Regulations 1997, Approved Code of Practice, Regulations and guidance.
Consultancy
Severn Access can help categorise a confined space, as well as provide risk assessments and method statements, as part of a safe system of work. A site visit is usually recommended in order for one of our expert personnel to be able to draft a detailed report with recommendations and advice.
Top Man/Woman Service
Severn Access can provide a Confined Space Top Man Service to oversee and facilitate the entry of personnel into your confined space. They will be responsible for all necessary paperwork, including permits, entry forms, RAMS and a detailed rescue plan. Our Top man/woman will additionally check all equipment and monitor both the atmospheric gas levels and the wellbeing of entrants whilst working.
Standby Rescue Teams
Our qualified and experienced confined space rescue teams are fully equipped to perform a rescue, should it be required. Liaison with our client, along with our expertise, will determine what equipment may be used as part of the rescue plan e.g. tripod winches, first aid, full breathing apparatus, intrinsically safe lighting etc.
Our confined space teams may also adopt rope access techniques, not only to access and egress the confined space, but also to form part of the rescue plan, where other forms of access may not be suitable.
